The Chevrolet Silverado is General Motors’ bestselling vehicle, serving both consumer and commercial customers across a broad range of trims. For 2027, the lineup will feature new V-8s and tech features, including the return of the 350-cubic-inch and 400-cubic-inch small-block V-8s.
The Lineup
Returning to the Chevrolet Silverado lineup for 2027 are the Work Truck, Trail Boss, Custom, Custom Trail Boss, High Country, and ZR2 trims. The LT will be replaced by the “Silverado,” which will serve as the base model for the consumer version of Chevy’s popular full-size pickup.
The Work Truck trim will now offer the Duramax 3.0-liter turbodiesel I-6, giving fleet and commercial customers the opportunity to combine towing power and fuel economy.

Engine Options
Those hoping for a hybrid or plug-in hybrid option for the new Silverado will be disappointed. They are not planning electrification, but Chevrolet did add a “yet” to that statement. The Silverado will instead offer the Duramax 3.0-liter turbodiesel I-6 and Turbomax 2.7-liter turbocharged gas I-4, which both return from last year.
The 5.7-liter and 6.6-liter small-block V-8s will be built on the new Gen VI GM small-block V-8 architecture, which debuted with the 2027 Corvette.
Tech Upgrades
The 2027 Chevrolet Silverado also receives some interesting tech upgrades, including a 12.2-inch digital instrument cluster and a 16.3-inch infotainment screen, which will be standard across the board for the first time. The High Country and ZR2 trims will feature an additional 11.5-inch passenger-side screen.
Other tech features include a standard head-up display and rear camera mirror on the High Country and ZR2 trims, as well as a panoramic sunroof on the High Country. The Silverado will also offer a mix of touch and physical controls, with the most used functions still having real buttons.

Design Changes
The 2027 Silverado will feature some design changes, including a new Tritan Satin grille on the High Country trim, which replaces the standard chrome grille on the 2026 model. The ZR2 will receive real forged carbon-fiber trim, red accents, and red-trimmed seat belts.
The interior of the Silverado will also feature some changes, including real wood trim, tan-edged seat belts, and updated leather upholstery on the High Country trim.
Overall, the 2027 Chevrolet Silverado will offer a range of new features and upgrades, including new V-8s, tech features, and design changes. While it may not offer a hybrid or plug-in hybrid option, it will still provide a powerful and capable pickup truck for both consumer and commercial customers.
