JAC Motors has arrived at Mining Indonesia 2026, holding its ground at JIExpo Kemayoran in Jakarta from September 9 to 12, 2026. Represented by Indomobil JAC, the manufacturer is showcasing electric vehicle solutions tailored for the heavy operational demands of mining sites. The goal is to bridge the gap between high-efficiency logistics and the industry’s urgent need to reduce carbon emissions.
The booth highlights two primary lines. First is the Trekker T9 EV 4×4 double cabin. Second is the UrbanMover N90 EV light truck. Both are zero-emission vehicles designed to handle rugged terrain while keeping operational costs manageable. This dual approach addresses the specific friction points that mining companies face when transitioning away from diesel-heavy fleets.
Reggie Kurnia, Chief Operating Officer of Indomobil JAC, framed the participation as a critical step. He noted that the event brings commercial electric solutions closer to industry players working across various Indonesian terrains. “Until now, JAC Motors vehicles have been used by customers in various regions of Indonesia,” Kurnia stated. “This is proof that the products and solutions we present are relevant to the mobility needs of industry in Indonesia.”
The technical updates on the Trekker T9 EV deserve attention. The vehicle now features a Differential Lock and a Front Trunk. These additions are not just cosmetic; they are meant to boost traction and stability on extreme off-road conditions. For a vehicle built to traverse unstable mining grounds, such mechanical upgrades are the difference between a reliable workhorse and a stranded asset. The market will likely judge the long-term viability of these electric trucks based on how well these specific mechanical components hold up under sustained, heavy load over time, rather than just the initial purchase price.

Financial incentives are also on the table. During the exhibition, JAC Motors offered a special pre-booking price of Rp868. This figure is Rp20 million lower than the standard rate and includes OTR Jakarta costs. The discount is a direct attempt to lower the barrier to entry for fleet managers still weighing the total cost of ownership against traditional combustion engines.
Concrete deals have already been struck. JAC Motors conducted a symbolic handover of 150 units of the Trekker T9 EV. These units were allocated to three partner companies operating in the mining sectors of Aceh, Berau in Kalimantan, and Banyuwangi in East Java. The delivery marks a significant shift from marketing promises to active deployment.
Operators in these specific regions will now serve as a real-world test case. With vehicles on the ground in diverse geological environments, the next phase involves monitoring actual performance and maintenance requirements. The initial rollout suggests growing confidence in electric commercial logistics. True success will be measured by the durability reports generated by these first 150 units in the field.
