Lexus Unveils New Infotainment System

The 2026 Lexus ES sedan marks a significant departure from its predecessor in terms of exterior styling, and it’s also where Lexus is introducing its new infotainment system, the Enhanced Lexus Interface Multimedia Experience.

This system is designed to be more responsive and interactive, with additional personalization options, according to the report.

The system’s software is accessed through a 14.0-inch central screen with a user interface that features crisper graphics and more intuitive, easily configurable icons.

Users can move the widgets around, while a Quick Control Menu remains fixed and accessible in the upper right section of the screen for frequently used features like connecting to Bluetooth.

The voice assistant can be activated by uttering a command like “Hey, hi, or OK Lexus,” and it can perform functions like changing the radio station or adjusting the volume.

The system also includes AT&T 5G connectivity for faster speeds, and it’s compatible with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, as well as Sirius XM with 360L for ad-free music channels.

Other features include the ability to see maps and turn-by-turn directions in the driver display, and to set the mood with a choice of 64 ambient light colors.

The Lexus app can be downloaded to set up a phone as a digital key and to perform remote functions, such as setting a charging schedule and limits.

A new standard feature called Drive Recorder acts as a dashcam, automatically saving up to 90 one-minute clips or allowing manual recording.

Subscribing to Drive Connect for a fee adds options like real-time traffic and live agents for assistance, as well as a charge management system and EV Routing for route planning.

The 2026 Lexus ES is rolling out to dealers now, starting with the electric models, with the hybrids to follow this summer.
