The 2027 Ram 1500 Direct Connection by Roush is a turnkey off-road performance upgrade package aimed at Hemi-powered midgrade Rams. Roush is a name that will be familiar to old-time racers and tuners who have an affinity for Mopar vehicles.
According to the report, the Direct Connection name was originally used by Chrysler in the ’70s and ’80s to connect with enthusiasts building cars for various racing events. The name was revived in 2022 to market SRT-developed parts for Hellcat, Demon, and other high-performance vehicles.

The 2027 Ram 1500 Direct Connection by Roush package is based on the Big Horn Crew Cab 4×4 model and requires several options, including the Hemi V-8 engine, 3.92:1 electronically locking rear axle, and Level 2 Equipment Group. It starts at around $63,000, depending on the color.
The Roush package includes a 2.0 Coil-Over Suspension System with custom-tuned twin-tube hydraulic dampers, which are designed to enhance off-road performance while maintaining on-road drivability. It features 33-inch General Grabber A/TX tires on 18-inch performance wheels.

Performance Expectations
The Roush package does not include a supercharger, which means it may not be as powerful as some other high-performance vehicles. The Active Cat-Back exhaust system allows for variable noise levels, but no numerical power or acceleration-time improvements are claimed.
Roush Performance twin-tube coil-over shocks are a key component of the package, but it’s unclear whether they offer an upgrade over the Bilstein monotubes used in the Rebel model. The General Grabber A/TX tires may offer better grip than the Goodyear Wrangler DuraTracs used in the Rebel, but this remains to be seen.
