Mercedes-Benz Vans Australia is marking three decades of the Vito with a limited-run Crew Cab special edition. This release introduces the most powerful diesel engine ever fitted to the company’s mid-size commercial van in the local market. The vehicle will be available for order starting 1 August, with a starting price of $86,679 before on-road costs.
The centerpiece of this 30th Anniversary Edition is the adoption of a turbocharged 2.0-litre four-cylinder diesel engine. Borrowed from the more upscale V-Class, this unit generates 174kW and 500Nm of torque. According to the manufacturer, these output figures make the model the most powerful mid-size crew-cab van in its class.
The van is configured as a five-seat model, retaining approximately 3.6 cubic metres of cargo space behind the second row. While the technical specifications align with higher-end passenger vehicles, the Vito maintains its utility-focused design. Externally, the vehicle is identified by Alpine Grey paint, 17-inch five-spoke wheels, and specific anniversary badging.
Higher performance and luxury-adjacent equipment in a commercial chassis mirror broader trends in the light-commercial vehicle sector. Manufacturers are increasingly blurring the lines between work-oriented haulers and lifestyle vehicles. This transition reflects the maturation of the dual-cab ute market over the last decade.

Production of the anniversary van is strictly limited for the Australian market. Buyers can access the vehicle through official Mercedes-Benz Vans retailers starting in August.
